Gifts from Pupils
On a teacher's birthday. a kindergarten teacher was receiving gifts from her pupils. The florist's son handed her a gift. She shooked it, held it over her head, and said, "I bet I know what it is...flowers."
"That's right!" said the boy. "But how did you know?" Just a wild guess, she said.
The next pupil was the candy store owner's daughter. The teacher held her gift overhead, shooked it, and said, "I bet I can guess what it is... a box of candy."
"That's right!" But how did you know?" asked the girl. "Just a lucky guess," said the teacher.
The next gift was from the liquor store owner's son. The teacher held it over her head but it was leaking. She touched a drop of the leakage with her finger and tasted it. "Is it wine?" she asked. "No", the boy replied.
The teacher repeated the process, touching another drop of the leakage to her tongue. "Is it champagne?" she asked. "No," the boy replied.
The teacher then said, "I give up, what is it?"
The boy replied, "A puppy!"
園児からの贈り物
先生の誕生日に、幼稚園の先生は園児たちからプレゼントをもらっていました。花屋さんの息子が彼女にプレゼントを手渡します。彼女は頭の上で振ると、こう言います、「多分何か分かるわ、、、お花でしょう。」「そうだよ！だけどなんで分かったの？」と男の子が言う。「ただの勘よ。」と彼女は言う。
次は、キャンディショップの娘です。先生はプレゼントを頭の上で振って、こう言います、「多分何か当てられるわ、、、箱に入ったキャンディね。」
「そうだよ！だけどなんで分かるの？」と女の子は聞く。「運が良かっただけよ。」と先生は言う。
次のプレゼントは酒屋さんの息子からです。先生は頭の上に持っていくが、なにか漏れている。彼女は漏れているのを一滴指に取ると味わってみる。「ワインかしら？」と彼女は聞く。「違うよ。」と男の子は言う。
先生はまた同じ事をする、一滴指に取ると舌で味わう。「シャンパンかしら？」と彼女は聞く、「違うよ。」と男の子は答える。
先生はついに言う、「分からないわ、何かしら？」
男の子が答える、「子犬だよ！」
