Turning Red
A teacher was giving a lesson on the circulation of the blood. Trying to make the matter clearer, he said: "Now, students, if I stood on my head the blood, as you know, would run into it, and I should turn red in the face."
"Yes, sir," the boys said.
"Then why is it that while I am standing upright in the ordinary position the blood doesn't run into my feet?"
Little Johnny shouted, "It's because yer feet ain't empty."
赤くなる
先生は血液の循環について授業をしていました。皆に分かりやすくするため、先生はこう言います。「それでね、僕が逆立ちをするとするだろう、すると血液が頭の方に流れて行くんだ。そして僕の顔は赤くなる。」「そうですね。」と少年が言う。
「それじゃあ、普通に立っているとき、僕の足に血が流れて行かないのはなぜなんですか？」
するとリトルジョニーが叫ぶ。「そりゃあおまえの足は空っぽじゃねぇからだよ！」
