Sin of Lying
A minister told his congregation, "Next week I plan to preach about the sin of lying. To help you understand my sermon, I want you all to read Mark 17."
The following Sunday, as he prepared to deliver his sermon, the minister asked for a show of hands. He wanted to know how many had read Mark 17. Every hand went up. The minister smiled and said, "Mark has only sixteen chapters. I will now proceed with my sermon on the sin of lying."
嘘の罪
牧師様が会衆に向かって言いました。「来週私は嘘の罪に関して伝道をしようと思います。私の説教をちゃんと理解出来るよう、皆さんにはマルコの福音書の17章を読んでおいて頂きたいと思います。」次の日曜日、牧師様は説教を始める準備をしながら、皆に手を挙げさせます。集まった人のうちどれくらいの人が17章を読んだか知りたかったのです。全員の手が挙がりました。牧師様はにこりと微笑むと、こう言います。「マルコの福音書には16章までしかありません。それでは嘘の罪について説教を始めましょうか。」
