Texas is Bigger
A Texan farmer goes to Australia for a vacation. There he meets an Aussie farmer and gets talking. The Aussie shows off his big wheat field and the Texan says, "Oh! We have wheat fields that are at least twice as large."
Then they walk around the ranch a little, and the Aussie shows off his herd of cattle. The Texan immediately says, "We have longhorns that are at least twice as large as your cows."
The conversation has, meanwhile, almost died when the Texan sees a herd of kangaroos hopping through the field. He asks, "And what are those?"
The Aussie replies with an incredulous look, "Don't you have any grasshoppers in Texas?"
テキサスの方がでかい
テキサスで農家をしている男性が休暇でオーストラリアに行きます。テキサスの男性は現地で農家をやっている男性と知り合い、会話を始めます。オーストラリアの農家は広大な麦畑を見せびらかします。するとテキサスの農家はこう言います。「ああ、テキサスじゃあ麦畑は最低でもこの倍のサイズだよ。」それから二人は農場を散歩して周り、今度はオーストラリアの農家が牛の群れを見せびらかします。テキサスの農家は間髪入れずにこう言います。「テキサスだと君のところの牛の最低でも倍のサイズのロングホーンがいるよ。」
気まずくなり会話が途切れそうになったちょうどその時、テキサスの農家が草原を飛び跳ねているカンガルーを目にします。彼はこう質問します。「あれはなんなんだい？」
オーストラリアの男は怪訝な顔をしてこう答える。「テキサスじゃバッタはいないのかい？」
