An Opening Joke
Not too long ago a large seminar was held for ministers in training.Among the speakers were many well known motivational speakers. One such boldly approached the pulpit and, gathering the entire crowd's attention, said, "The best years of my life were spent in the arms of a woman that wasn't my wife!"
The crowd was shocked! He followed up by saying, "And that woman was my mother!" - The crowd burst into laughter and he gave his speech which, went over well.
About a week later one of the ministers who had attended the seminar decided to use that joke in his sermon. As he shyly approached the pulpit one sunny Sunday, he tried to rehearse the joke in his head. It seemed a bit foggy to him this morning.
Getting to the microphone he said loudly, "The greatest years of my life were spent in the arms of another woman that was not my wife!"
His congregation sat shocked. After standing there for almost 10 seconds trying to recall the second half of the joke, the minister finally blurted out "...and I can't remember who she was!"
つかみのジョーク
結構最近のこと、研修中の牧師が集まる大きな会合が開かれました。スピーチが上手で有名な人がたくさん話しました。そんな中の一人が教壇に進み出ると、聴衆は皆注目します。彼はこう始めます。「私の人生で最良の時は、妻以外の女性の腕の中にいた時だ！」
聴衆はショックを受けます！彼はこう続けます。「そしてその女性は私の母だ！」・・・すると聴衆は爆笑し、彼のスピーチはうまい具合に進みました。
一週間後、セミナーに参加した牧師は、このジョークを説教の中で使おうと決めます。ある晴れた日曜日、彼はおずおずと教壇に進みながら、ジョークをどう言えば良いか頭の中で復唱します。緊張であまりよく覚えていません。
彼はマイクに向かって大声でこう言います。「私の人生で最良の時は、妻以外の女性の腕の中にいた時だ！」
彼の会衆はびっくりして座っています。彼はそこで立ちすくみ10秒ほどこのジョークのオチを思い出そうと考えます。ついに彼は訳が分からずにこう言ってしまいます。「・・・そしてその女が誰だったか忘れてしまった！」
