Applying for Deputy
"OK," said the sheriff, "What is 1+1?"
The blunt man thought for a minute, and finally said, "11."
The sheriff asked, "What two days of the week start with the letter T?"
The blunt man said, "That's easy, Today and Tomorrow."
The sheriff said, "Now the last question, who killed Abraham Lincoln?"
The blunt man thought really hard, and at last said, "I don't know."
The sheriff smiled and said, "Well, why don't you go home and work on that."
So the blunt man went home and his wife asked him how it went. The man replied happily, "Great! He already put me on a murder case!"
保安官代理に応募
保安官が保安官代理を募集していると、頭の悪そうな男性が来て応募したいと言う。保安官が面接を始める。「よし、1 + 1はなんだ？」
頭のにぶい男はしばらくの間考えて、ようやく答える。「11。」
保安官が続いて質問する。「一週間の内で"T"で始まる二日はいつといつだ？」
頭のにぶい男が答える。「そりゃあ簡単だ。"Today"と"Tomorrow"だ。」
保安官の次の質問。「最後の質問だ。アブラハム・リンカーンを暗殺したのは誰だ？」
頭のにぶい男は一生懸命考え、最後にはこう答える。「分かんねえ。」
保安官はにっこり微笑むと、こう言う。「そうか、じゃあ家に帰ってその件について考えてみな。」
頭のにぶい男がそのまま家に帰ると妻はどうだったか質問する。男は嬉しそうにこう答える。「良かったよ！保安官はもう俺に殺人事件を担当させてくれたんだ！」
