German Refugee
Did you hear about the man in Germany who recently (within the past few years) went to his pastor to confess a sin and seek guidance? "I have a sin to confess," he said, sobbing. "During World War II, I hid a refugee in my attic."
"Well," the pastor replied, "that's not a sin."
"But," the man admitted, "I made him pay rent."
"That wasn't very nice," the pastor said, "but you put yourself at risk."
"Do you really think so? Oh, thank you, pastor. Your confidence eases my conscience greatly," the man said. "But I have one more question."
"What is it?"
"Do you think I have to tell him the war is over?"
ドイツの難民
ドイツで最近（この２〜３年の事です）牧師に懺悔してどうしたらよいか尋ねた男の話を知ってます？彼はすすり泣きながらこう言います。「懺悔することがあります。第二次世界大戦の最中、私は難民を天井裏に匿ったのです。」牧師が答えます。「それは、罪とは言えませんよ。」
男が告白します。「だけど、彼に家賃を払わせたのです。」
「それはさすがによろしく無いことだ。しかし君自身もリスクを背負ったのだ。」
「本当にそう思いますか？ああ、牧師様、ありがとうございます。あなたがそう言ってくれた事でどれだけ私の良心が救われたことか。しかしながら、もう一つだけ質問があります。」
「それはなんでしょうか？」
「彼に戦争が終わったことを教えてあげなくちゃだめでしょうか？」
