Gift for a Birthday
A fellow was very much in love with a beautiful girl. One day she told him that the next day was her birthday. He told her he would send her a bouquet of roses... one for each year of her life.
That evening he called the local florist and ordered twenty-one roses with instructions that they be delivered first thing the next morning.
As the florist was preparing the order, he decided that since the young man was such a good customer, he would put an extra dozen roses in the bouquet.
The fellow never did find out what made the young girl so angry with him.
誕生日のプレゼント
ある若い男が美しい女性に恋をした。ある日彼女は彼に次の日が自分の誕生日であることを伝える。彼は彼女に年の数だけのバラの花束を贈ることを約束する。その日の晩、彼は地元の花屋に電話をすると、次の日の朝早くに21本のバラを配達してもらえるよう伝える。
花屋が注文の準備をする際、注文をした彼が常連の良いお客様であるため、12本のバラをサービスとして花束に含めた。
若い男は恋をした女性がなぜそれほど怒ったのかついに分かることは無かった・・・
